Laboratory Technologist

Current Work

My group focuses on Invasive Bacterial Disease (IBD) in children with a key interest on studying Streptococcus Pneumoniae, a bacterium that causes invasive pneumococcal disease such as Meningitis, Sepsis and Pneumonia in children below 5 years of age.

Motivation

To see the data I generate in the laboratory being translated to effective interventions that improve the health of the general Kenyan population and the rest of the world.

Qualifications

Diploma, Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory sciences.

Hobbies

I love cooking and trying new recipes for my family during my free time. I also like sharing the knowledge that I have acquired so far with new employees and students on attachment. I dislike favouritism (showing partiality) and am a strong believer of giving equal opportunity to all.

Favorite subject

My favourite subject in high school was Chemistry.

Ambition

My overall goal is to positively impact the lives of people around me both at work and in the community.
